Read4Me is a small application that reads the input text and pronounce it in a choice of voices.

Actually Read4Me is a full text editor with spell check, printing, saving to RTF, as well as plain text. Nice for kids, great for presenters and as a media production utility.

Read4Me is a great tool because listening to your text will catch errors that a spell checker won't, but it has the spell check to find the other errors, and it opens MS Word, and HTML or other text documents.

You can save the audio to a file, or save it to AudioBook to listen to on the road.

It is very easy to change the speed of reading in words per minute, or to start, stop and select another voice.

OS X Lion supports speech in 27 languages and also English dialects such as British, Irish and Scottish.

When you run OS X 10.7 Lion you'll be able to download additional voices from Apple, for free, in the Read4Me Help menu you'll find assistance for downloading international voices.

Downloadable are high quality voices for Arabic, Cantonese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai and Turkish.

When you require international languages while running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard you will need to install 3rd party voices.

NOTE: To via Read4Me via the App Store an Apple account is required.
